jianfeng ge
Postdoctoral Research Associate. Funded by CRUK
Jianfeng studied bioengineering at Hebei University (2007-2011). After completing his undergraduate degree, Jianfeng joined Yaojiong Wu’s group in Tsinghua University (2011-2014) as a master to study cells therapy based on 3D cultured mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)and investigate factors in safety of intracarotid cells transplantation, investigate the molecular mechanism of extracellular matrix for hair follicle regeneration. During his master in Tsinghua University, he was awarded national scholarship, then one of the best graduated master students and also university-level outstanding master thesis. Meanwhile he also submitted one patent.
From 2014 to 2018, he was a PhD student supervised by prof. Cord Brakebusch in BRIC, University of Copenhagen, where he focused on studying role of Rho GTPase in regulating myofibroblasts differentiation of MSCs. After he got his PhD degree, he joined Sakari Vanharanta’s group, MRC-CU, University of Cambridge, as a research associate to study the genetic vulnerabilities in VHL mutant quasi-normal cells by using CRISPR-cas9 based genome wide screening techniques, organoids model et al (2018-2022). Since then he joins the group of Daniel Munoz-Espin, in the Department of Oncology, University of Cambridge. Here he focuses on studying senolytic targets in drug induced senescent cancer cells by using CRISPR-cas9 genome wide screening technique.
